Elizabeth Hesson


Ms. Hesson’s primary career focus has been healthcare finance, collections, profitability, and efficiencies. During her employment history, she has also been involved in insurance contracting, credentialing, medical policies, insurance billing, collections and appeals including internal and external audits, and producing qualifying documentation. Her experience includes Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, Worker’s Compensation, Social Security, CPT-4, HCPCs, and ICD-10 coding including fee schedules. She is proficient in software conversions, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 

Elizabeth has extensive experience in hospital in-patient and out-patient billing and collections as well as expertise in staff training for multiple newly opened and existing out-of-state facilities for Hospital Corporation of America. 

Over the last decade, as a multi-physician orthopedic office manager, Ms. Hesson has handled billing, collections, secretarial duties, malpractice claims research, creating medical case study reports for attorneys, payroll, taxes, and accounting including billing for multi-physician neurosurgery and neurology practices. 

Previously, she has been responsible for Billing and Collections for a 26-employee team of a Home Infusion Pharmacy across multiple branch locations, as well as Respiratory Therapy and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) sales. 

In her role as Home Infusion Therapy Reimbursement Manager and Financial Analyst, she trained staff, created billing manuals, and led sales and referral source presentations. 

As a home infusion service expert, she served residents of West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. In addition to her duties as a Supervisor and staff trainer, she was responsible for marketing, intake, insurance authorizations, medical billing, pharmacy claims, cash posting, and accounts receivable. She is experienced in billing manual creation including At-a-Glance by therapy and payer, fee schedule and coding comparisons, internal and external audits such as Redetermination, Reconsideration, Performant, C2C, and RAC, as well as State of WV Tax audits and quarterly reporting (B&O), Sales and Use Tax, and re-credentialing as well as Insurance Contracting. 

Presenting financial status report graphs, and profitability measurements to board members have been one of her responsibilities as well as the management of 340B contracts and programs, including reconciliation of bank statements and regular communication with accounting departments.
